I am totally disappointed. I waited two hours for them to open to order breakfast because I wanted biscuits and gravy because I like their B&G more than country kitchen. I ordered two full breakfasts and a short stack. Every item was subpar. The biggest rip off was the pancakes. The short stack is now $5.95 for two pancakes, and it was ridiculously thin and barely bigger than the palm of my hand. I could have made 50 pancakes for the $6 of bisquick. I was expecting thick, fluffy, big as a plate pancakes, not something that looks like freezer pancakes. Both sets of hashbrowns were undercooked and obviously smaller than previous orders. Eggs were hard and crispy on the edges, closer to over hard than over medium. One of the breakfasts had 3.25 pieces of bacon instead of 4. The biscut of the B&G was smaller and denser. The gravy was scant and tasted more of pepper than anything else. All together the b&g was gummy and not what I remembered. I tried calling to complain but it rang no answer. It wasn't worth the time and effort to spend another 20+ min driving because I honestly don't expect them to make it right since basically the entire $32 order would need to be remade. This is not an isolated incident. We have noticed a decline in value, as the prices go up. I seriously doubt I will be back.
The last 3 burgers I’ve got to go have been really small. I was ordering 1/3 pound burgers but was receiving their 1/4 pound burgers and being charged full price. After three times in a row it almost feels intentional. Might wait awhile before I go back.
This trip was not as fun as usual. I ended up wearing soda pop the waitress delivered. It was cold and sticky with no refund offered as compensation. Not even a small one. I got one short apology. I loved the deep fried mushrooms which they no longer serve so I'm not happy at all. The only thing pleasant was a older woman who saw the dropping of the soda who was sympathetic and a pleasant conversationist.
I remember when I was a kid going to Lew's Diary Freeze on McLoughlin in Milwaukee. Fond memories. I'm glad to see that when they closed there they didn't totally disappear.
Food was good, but, when I ordered the Coney dog, the Coney sauce was room temperature. It also wasn't very good, more like a chili. Sort of put a damper on the experience. Coney dog is not what I'd order from here.
Burger was good. Overall it was a decent meal. I'm glad to see they are still around.
My husband and I love Lew’s! When family comes to visit us from out of town, we take them to Lew’s. They have the best burgers, tots, onion rings and milkshakes. We have been a handful of times and haven’t had anything to complain about. My favorite is the breakfast burger, comes with ham and two eggs! It is SO good!
We go quite often for my grandkids. They love the ice cream.. We always have excellent customer service and the staff always goes out of their way to make us feel welcome ..
Third time we've visited here; the fish&chips have always been consistently good, tried out the captains platter, classic and shrimp cooked tender and moist. Service was fast and friendly, order came out quickly.
Loved the California burger, fries and breakfast food! Some amazing ice cream like - cotton Candy and black licorice. I didn’t try cotton Candy, but my whole family loved black licorice!
Everyone was super friendly, and I’ll definitely make a drive back out again soon!
Only downside is no changing station in the bathroom for toddlers, so bring a changing mat.
